Illustrator is used to create vectors, which can vary, from logos to digital painting to creating fonts and assets. the fact that it works in vector means that the images created in Illustrator are idefinetely resizeable since they aren't made of pixels. I didn't really know what I wanted to do with Illustrator, however during my research I happened upon a video describing a way to convert photographs into vectorised images. Through this I was inspired to research some Pop Art and was inspired by some of Andy Warhol's work.

I found the concept quite interesting and decided to try it out. I found I could potentially create something quite interesting using this technique. I tried doing some experiments using it. I started by importing some images that I had taken and using the Image Trace tool, experimenting with its settings and seeing what results it yielded.

The result after setting the Image trace to 16 colours was interesting, but it wasn't much of a difference from the original photo. so I decided to try a different image, a monochrome image, the Spotlight Moon that I created earlier on Photoshop.

I really liked the effect that it had on a black and white image but I wanted to create something from scratch for this part of the assignment. So I followed the style of Andy Warhol to a certain degree and photographed a simple water bottle, vectorised it, duplicated the image and superimposed them with slight deviation to give a bit of depth and eventually coloured it in. I also added a background that contrasts the colour of the cap with a gradient to give it some depth as well.

I really like how it came out in the end, the colours are mainly what was inspired by Warhol's work, I think adding some sort of texture to the object would make it better.

Photoshop is mainly used to photo manipulation and composites. Many people use it for photo editing and colour correction. While researching photo manipulation I found myself surrounded by a myriad of artworks and artists and didn't know what I really wanted to do. After some time browsing, I found an artist who made surrealistic landscapes and found his work to be quite interesting and beautiful, his name is Justin Peters. Figure 1: Melting Moon (Justin Peters) The artworks that really inspired me were his artworks involving Universe and the Moon, I found that he had an interesting take on the possibilities that the human mind can imagine. I started imagining and brainstorming in what way I could use these images together to create an image that conveys some sort of meaning. ...
Whilst researching the company i.e. Mcast, I came across the brand guidelines which where mostly referencing the logo and promotional material. I thought that this had little relevance to the topic itself which was the programme "Int Min Int?", since Mcast is only the company under which it is released. Thus, I focused on the aspects that influence the image of the programme itself i.e. The reason behind the programmes existence, to get to know the something or someone and learn something in the process.
